Upamecano was born in Évreux, Normandy, France and raised in La Madeleine, a neighborhood with many African immigrants, and he’s of Bissau-Guinean descent.
Upamecano has been at FC Bayern since the summer of 2021. He started his professional career at RB Salzburg. He later moved to Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where he played for a total of four years before joining Bayern Munich.
Upamecano has represented France at various levels, including at under-16, -17, -18, -19 and -21 levels. He made his debut for the France national football team in 2020.
