Cannon is an Everton youth product, having joined the club at the age of ten. He signed his first professional contract in March 2021, a two-year deal that runs until June 2023. In August 2022, he signed a contract extension that would take him through June 2025.
On November 8, 2022, he made his senior and professional debut for Everton as a late substitute in a 4-1 EFL Cup loss to AFC Bournemouth. Cannon later made his Premier League debut as a 74th-minute substitute in Everton’s 3-0 loss to Bournemouth on November 12, 2022.
Cannon joined Championship team Preston North End on loan until the end of the season on January 10, 2023. Cannon made his EFL Championship debut against Norwich City on January 14, 2023. On February 25, Cannon scored his first goal against Wigan Athletic.
