Thomas Müller is a professional footballer who plays as a striker (secondary striker) for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the German national team. He was born in Weilheim in Oberbayern, Germany and grew up in the nearby village of Pähl.
Müller joined the FC Bayern youth set-up from TSV Pähl in 2000 and has worn the club’s jersey since making his senior debut in the summer of 2008, making him the longest-serving player in the squad.
In both 2013 and 2020, Müller won the treble of the Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB Cup with FC Bayern, and following his 11th league title in the summer of 2022, he’s the most successful Bundesliga player in history.
At the international level, Müller has represented Germany at various youth levels, including at under-16, -19, -20 and -21 levels. He made his debut for the German national senior team in 2010.
In 2010, Müller was the top scorer at the World Cup in South Africa and was voted the best young player of the tournament. In 2014, he won the World Cup with Germany in Brazil.
