Additional Info
Jonathan Grant Evans MBE is a Northern Irish professional footballer who now plays for Premier League club Manchester United as well as the Northern Ireland national side.
Evans began his career at Manchester United and rose through the club’s youth system. He gained first-team experience on loan at Royal Antwerp and Sunderland before making his Manchester United debut in the 2007-08 League Cup. He became a regular first-team squad member the following season, playing nearly 200 games for Manchester United and winning three Premier League titles, among other accolades, during an eight-year spell; however, he fell out of favour at the club under manager Louis van Gaal and left for West Bromwich Albion in 2015. Evans joined Leicester City three years after West Brom’s relegation, where he won the FA Cup in 2021.
Evans is Northern Ireland’s second-most decorated player in history. He has appeared in over 100 matches for Northern Ireland and was a key member of the team’s journey to the round of 16 at UEFA Euro 2016.
