Additional Info
Roberto Firmino Barbosa de Oliveira is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays forward or attacking midfielder for Al Ahli and the Brazil national team.
After beginning his career with Figueirense in 2009, he played for TSG Hoffenheim for four and a half seasons. During the 2013–14 Bundesliga season, he scored 16 goals in 33 games and was named the league’s Breakthrough Player. In July 2015, he joined Liverpool, where he received praise for his creativity, goalscoring, and work ethic, with manager Jürgen Klopp describing Firmino as the “engine” of the club’s counter-pressing system. After Philippe Coutinho’s departure, he formed a formidable offensive triumvirate with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané.
In 2018–19, he won the UEFA Champions League, and in 2019–20, he won the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup after scoring the game-winning goal in the final, and the Premier League. In the 2021–22 season, he also won the FA Cup and EFL Cup with Liverpool. In Liverpool, Firmino is largely regarded as a cult hero.
In November 2014, Firmino made his international debut for Brazil. He represented the country at the Copa América in 2015, 2019, and 2021, as well as the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
