Additional Info
David Ospina Ramrez is a Colombian professional footballer who captains the Colombian national team and plays custodian for Saudi Professional League club Al Nassr.
Ospina began his career at Atlético Nacional, where he made his debut in 2005. Ospina joined Nice after winning two domestic titles with Los Verdolagas. He signed a four-year contract with Arsenal in 2014. Ospina won three titles with the club during his tenure in London: the FA Cup in 2015 and 2017, as well as the FA Community Shield in 2017. Ospina was loaned out to Serie A club Napoli in 2018. The next year, Napoli signed Ospina on a permanent basis. Ospina was instrumental in Napoli’s Coppa Italia victory in 2020. Following fruitless contract discussions with Napoli, Ospina agreed to join SPL side Al-Nassr in 2022.
Since 2007, Ospina has represented his country at the highest international level. Ospina represented Colombia at the FIFA World Youth Championship in 2005. Notably, he was a member of Colombia’s gold-medal-winning squads at the 2005 Bolivarian Games and the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games. He became Colombia’s youngest custodian when he made his senior debut against Uruguay. He has since gained 127 caps for his country, earning him the most capped player in his country’s history, competing in four Copa Américas and two World Cups.
