Additional Info
Jonjo Shelvey is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Nottingham Forest as a midfielder.
Shelvey began his career at Charlton Athletic, where he was the club’s youngest-ever player at the age of 16 years and 59 days. He moved to Liverpool for an initial fee of £1.7 million in 2010 after a brief loan at Blackpool. Shelvey was a member of the Liverpool squad that won the League Cup and lost the FA Cup final in 2012. Swansea City paid him £5 million in 2013, and Newcastle United paid him £12 million two and a half years later. A month after joining Newcastle, he was named stand-in captain in the absence of Fabricio Coloccini when the club was relegated. He has since helped Newcastle reclaim Premier League status and has established himself as the club’s vice-captain.
Shelvey has represented England at the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 levels, as well as captaining the under-19 team. In 2012, he earned his first senior team cap.
