Gonçalo Manuel Ganchinho Guedes is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League and for the Portugal national team.
Guedes began his career at Benfica, debuting for the reserves in April 2014 and the first team six months later. In January 2017, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a €30 million transfer fee after scoring 11 goals in 63 games across all competitions and won five major titles. He appeared in only 13 appearances for PSG before being loaned to Valencia in September 2017, where he later joined on a permanent basis for a €40 million sum a year later. He appeared in 178 appearances and scored 36 goals for the Spanish club, winning the Copa del Rey in 2019, before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2022 for £27.5 million.
Guedes appeared in 57 youth matches for Portugal, ranging from under-15 to under-23. At the age of 18, he earned his senior international debut in November 2015 and featured in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. In the 2019 UEFA Nations League Final, he scored the game-winning goal for Portugal.
