Pierre-Emile Kordt Højbjerg is a professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Denmark national team. He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to a Danish father and a French mother.
Højbjerg began his career as a youth for Danish clubs BK Skjold, Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, and Brøndby IF.
He moved to Bayern Munich from Brøndby IF in July 2012, making his debut later that season at the age of 17, and in doing so, he became the youngest player ever to represent FC Bayern in the Bundesliga.
Moreover, his time in Germany also saw him enjoy loan spells at FC Augsburg, who he helped to Europa League qualification in 2015, and FC Schalke, where he made more than 30 appearances during the 2015/16 campaign.
Højbjerg made his move to the Premier League with Southampton in July 2016, helping them to the EFL Cup final in his first season and was named Club Captain in December 2018. He joined Tottenham Hotspur from Southampton in August 2020.
At international level, Højbjerg has represented Denmark at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 levels. He made his senior international debut for Denmark as an 18-year-old in May 2014.
