Sergej Milinkovi-Savi, usually known as Sergej, is a Serbian professional footballer who currently plays for Saudi Professional League side Al Hilal and the Serbia national team.
Milinkovi-Savi began his professional career with Serbian club Vojvodina, where he helped the club win the Serbian Cup in 2013-14. In June 2014, he joined Belgian club Genk, where he played 24 games before moving to Italian team Lazio a year later. He appeared in nearly 300 games with Lazio, winning the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana twice. In the 2017-18 season, he was named to the Serie A Team of the Year, and in the 2018-19 season, he was voted the league’s Best Midfielder.
Milinkovi-Savi, who was born in Spain, represented Serbia at the under-19, under-20, and under-21 levels. He was a member of the Serbian team that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2015, and he was awarded the tournament’s Bronze Ball for his efforts. He made his senior international debut in 2017 and represented Serbia in the FIFA World Cups in 2018 and 2022.
