Additional Info
Alex Nicolao Telles is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Al Nassr in the Saudi Professional League and for the Brazil national team.
Telles began his career with Brazilian Série D club Juventude before being acquired by Série A club Grêmio in 2013. He was named the league’s finest left-back that year. Telles joined Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray in January 2014, earning a league title, two Turkish Cups, and the Turkish Super Cup before being loaned to Serie A club Inter Milan for the 2015-16 season.
Telles was traded to FC Porto in July 2016, where he quickly established himself as one of the league’s greatest left-backs. He appeared in nearly 200 games for Porto, winning four trophies, including two league crowns, one Taça de Portugal, and one Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, as well as being chosen to the Primeira Liga Team of the Year for three consecutive seasons. Telles’ achievements piqued the interest of several European teams, and he agreed to terms with Manchester United in October 2020 for an initial fee of €18 million (£15.4 million).
Telles was born in Brazil and holds Italian citizenship, although he ended up representing Brazil at the international level. In 2019, he made his senior international debut.
