Jordi Alba Ramos is a Spanish professional footballer who currently plays for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami and captains the Spain national team. He is widely considered to be one of the top left-backs of his generation.
Alba began his career at Barcelona but was discharged due to his size. He relocated to Valencia after joining Cornellà. He returned to Barcelona in 2012, where he won sixteen major titles, including five La Ligas, five Copas del Rey, and one UEFA Champions League.
Alba made his senior debut for Spain in 2011 after gaining 23 caps and scoring one goal at youth level. He was a key player of the UEFA Euro 2012 winning team, as well as the squads for the FIFA World Cups in 2014, 2018, and 2022, as well as the European Championships in 2016 and 2020. Alba captained the side that won the UEFA Nations League in 2022-23.
Inter Miami confirmed the signing of Alba on a one-and-a-half-year contract with the option of an additional year on July 20, 2023. On 3 August 2023, he made his debut for the club against Orlando City in a Leagues Cup play-off game, coming on in the second half to help his team secure a 3-1 victory.
