Telles began his career at Brazilian Série D side Juventude, before being transferred to Série A side Grêmio in 2013. That year, he received the award for the best left-back in the league.

Telles joined the Turkish Süper Lig club Galatasaray in January 2014, winning a league championship, two Turkish Cups, and the Turkish Super Cup before being loaned out to Serie A team Inter Milan for the 2015–16 campaign.
