Additional Info
Aymeric Jean Louis Gérard Alphonse Laporte is a professional footballer who currently plays for Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. He was born in France and currently plays for the Spanish national team. He was previously with Basconia, Athletic Bilbao, and Manchester City. Laporte is primarily a center-back, but he can also play left-back.
When he joined Athletic Bilbao at the age of 16, he became only the second player born in France to play for the club, following Bixente Lizarazu, and went on to make 222 competitive appearances for the club. He joined Manchester City in January 2018. He was a member of the team that won England’s first domestic treble in men’s football in 2019, as well as the country’s second-ever continental treble in 2023.
Laporte, who was born in France, won 51 caps for his country at the youth international level and was called up to the senior team twice but went uncapped. Laporte was chosen to Spain’s squad for UEFA Euro 2020 in 2021 after acquiring Spanish citizenship and FIFA authorization to switch national teams. He would subsequently go on to represent his country at the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
