Danilo, a native of Bissau, began his professional career with a contract at Italian club Parma after spending time in Portugal with Estoril and Benfica’s youth system Three years later, after loan stints with Aris (Greece) and Roda JC (Netherlands), he went back to Portugal with Club Sport Maritimo in Funchal and finally reached his full potential.

Danilo’s dedication, dignity, and professionalism stood out from the moment he arrived on loan on the final day of the 2020 summer transfer window, and the move was made permanent in May 2021. He contributed to the club’s 10th Ligue 1 title win a year later.
