In July 1, 2017, Ederson joined City with a track record as one of the most promising young goalkeeper prospects in football.
He’s established himself as one of the best goalies in England, having lived up to his initial hype in Manchester by winning two Premier League championships, three Carabao Cups, an FA Cup, and two Community Shields.
Pep Guardiola swooped for the 23-year-old player in the offseason prior to his second stint at the Etihad Stadium because he had a reputation for making superb reflex saves and possessing excellent distribution.
After signing a six-year contract, he made his senior debut for Brazil three months later, in October 2017, keeping a clean sheet during a 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Chile.
Ederson had a fantastic first season with City, contributing significantly to the team’s Premier League triumph by recording 16 clean sheets.
He was chosen for Brazil’s 2018 World Cup squad thanks to his performance, which also earned him a PFA Young Player of the Year nomination.
He signed a new contract with City in May 2018 that kept him with the team until 2025, and he performed well once more in 2018–19.
