Eric Jeremy Edgar Dier is a professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or a defender for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team.

Born in Cheltenham, England but brought up in Portugal after his parents moved there in 2004, Dier was snapped up by Sporting Lisbon’s Academy and progressed through the youth ranks at the club, making his reserve and senior debuts in 2012 after a loan to Everton.

Dier joined Tottenham Hotspur from Sporting Lisbon in July 2014.

At international level, Dier has represented England at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20, Under-21, and senior levels. He made his debut for the senior team in November 2015.
