Jordan Brian Henderson MBE is an English professional footballer who currently plays for Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Professional League and for the England national team. Henderson is well-known for his leadership, versatility, and physicality.

The professional English footballer was with Liverpool FC for over a decade and captained the team to seven trophies under Jürgen Klopp.

Henderson joined the Sunderland Academy at the age of eight and made his first-team debut in November 2008, a decade later. In 2009, he spent six months on loan at Coventry City before returning to Sunderland. Henderson joined Liverpool in 2011 and won his first title with the club, the League Cup, a year later.

He made his Premier League debut in Liverpool’s opening game of the 2011–12 season, a 1–1 draw with Sunderland when he received a mixed reaction from Sunderland supporters.

Henderson scored his first goal for Liverpool on August 27, 2011, against Bolton Wanderers in a Premier League game played at Anfield.

In Liverpool’s 2012 League Cup triumph over Cardiff City on February 26, 2012, Henderson started on the right side of midfield before being replaced in the 58th minute.

He took part in all ninety minutes of Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the 2012 FA Cup Final on May 5. Henderson had two goals from 48 appearances at the end of the 2011–12 season.

After winning the 2021–22 FA Cup, Henderson made history by becoming the first Liverpool captain to win six different trophies on May 14, 2022.

Henderson, an England international, has made over 75 appearances for his country since making his debut in 2010. He has represented England in six international competitions, including the UEFA European Championships in 2012, 2016, and 2020, as well as the FIFA World Cups in 2014, 2018, and 2022. He was the only player in England history to be named Player of the Year at both the U-21 and senior levels.

Henderson finalised his move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq for a reported sum of £12 million on July 27, 2023, to rejoin his former Liverpool teammate, Manager Steven Gerrard.
