Kaoru Mitoma from Japan signed a four-year deal with Albion in August 2021 on undisclosed terms.
Prior to scoring his first goal in a 3-2 victory at Wolves in November 2022, Kaoru quickly became one of Albion’s most popular players thanks to his exciting performances down the flank.
After the 2022–2023 season, he would have scored seven goals in the Premier League, one surpassing the previous record held by Shinji Okazaki and Shinji Kagawa. He made 41 appearances across all competitions and completed his first season with Albion with 10 goals and 8 assists.
