Lisandro Martnez is an Argentine professional footballer who currently plays as a center-back for Manchester United and the Argentina national team.
Martnez started his career with Newell’s Old Boys before joining Defensa y Justicia on loan in 2017. He joined Ajax in 2019 and played 120 games in three seasons, winning two Eredivisie titles and one KNVB Cup. In the 2021-22 season, he was named Ajax Player of the Year.
Martnez, regarded as one of the world’s top defenders, represented Argentina at the under-20 and under-23 levels before making his senior international debut in March 2019. He was a member of the Argentina team that won the Copa América in 2021, the Finalissima in 2022, and the FIFA World Cup in 2022.
