During the 2015-16 season, he was named Algerian Footballer of the Year, PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and a member of the Premier League PFA Team of the Year while assisting Leicester City to victory in the Premier League.

In his first season with Manchester City, Mahrez won the Premier League, FA Cup, and EFL Cup. While at City, he won three more league titles, one FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and a UEFA Champions League as part of a continental treble in 2022-23.

Mahrez, who was born in France, made his international debut for Algeria in 2014 and went on to represent the country at the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021, winning the tournament in 2019. He was selected CAF’s African Footballer of the Year in 2016.
