Sergi was born in Nules and began his professional career with a local team before joining the Barcelona academy in 2010. He gained experience there as a forward or winger before leaving La Masia in 2013.
Canos signed a loan agreement with Brentford in 2015, and on September 12, 2015, he made his first senior appearance as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Leeds United. Later, he would make frequent appearances and, on November 21 against Nottingham Forest, he would score his first goal as a senior. Sergi finished the year with 7 goals from 39 appearances and also scored Brentford’s final goal.
