Wissa began his playing career with his hometown youth team, Epinay-sous-senart, as a goalkeeper before switching to midfield and then the forward line. He started his senior career with Chateauroux, moved up through the first team during the 2015–16 Championnat National season, and finally made the first team. He played 24 games and scored seven goals by the end of the season.
Wissa signed a four-year contract with Brentford in August 2021. In his first six games for the team, he scored five goals. His bicycle kick against Oldham Athletic won him the EFL Cup goal of the tournament award. Wissa finished the 21/22 season with 10 goals and 34 appearances.
