Alan Browne is an Irish midfielder who began his career with Cork City before joining Preston North End in January 2014. He made over 400 appearances for Preston, serving as club captain from 2020. After declining a new three-year deal, Browne joined Sunderland in July 2024 on a three-year contract. He represents the Republic of Ireland at senior international level.
