Conor James Coventry is a professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for EFL Championship club Charlton Athletic and the Republic of Ireland national team.

Coventry joined West Ham United’s junior academy at the age of ten. On his debut for the under-23 team on 20 February 2017, he scored his first goal in a 2-0 win over Fulham.

During the 2017-18 season, he appeared ten times in the Professional Development League and four times in the EFL Trophy, and he was named Academy Player of the Year on April 25, 2018.

Coventry signed his first professional deal with the club on May 25, 2018.
