Miguel Ángel Almirón Rejala, famously known as “Miguel Almirón,” started his career at Cerro Porteno before moving on to Lanus in 2015.

He joined Atlanta United FC for $8 million after winning the Argentine Primera Division in 2016. He earned his Paraguay international debut in 2015 and has since represented the country at the Copa América in 2016 and 2019.

On 31 January 2019, Almirón joined Premier League side Newcastle. Miguel Almiron, on 25 Feb 2023, later signed a new contract with Newcastle until 2026
