On the last day of the transfer window in August of 2021, AFC Bournemouth signed gifted attacking midfielder Ryan Christie.

His father, Charlie Christie, was an experienced footballer who played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

After arriving at Vitality Stadium on transfer deadline day in August 2021, Christie immediately made a difference, contributing five assists in his first nine matches.

In the 3-0 victory over Cardiff City in December 2021, he scored his first goal for the team. He then added goals against Birmingham City and Peterborough United.

He made 39 appearances in all during his first season, registering three goals and assisting on a total of eight. He assisted the Cherries to get automatic promotion to the Premier League for only the second time in the history of the club.
