Sam Johnstone, who plays for England, was at the top of his game when he joined Crystal Palace. At his previous club, West Bromwich Albion, he won every award there was to win.

With a string of dominant performances towards the end of the 2022–23 season, he cemented his place in the first team and was recalled to the England international team.
