About
Shim Mheuka is an English forward who plays for Chelsea, one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the club’s Cobham academy. Born in October 2007 in Birmingham to Zimbabwean parents, he began his development with Brighton & Hove Albion, joining at age nine and making his under-18 bow as a 14-year-old before moving to Chelsea in June 2022. He scored prolifically in the youth ranks and made his senior debut on 12 December 2024 as a substitute in a UEFA Conference League tie against Astana, becoming, at 17 years and 173 days, the youngest player ever to start for Chelsea in European competition. His Premier League debut followed in February 2025 against Southampton. A skilful, sharp-finishing striker, Mheuka has also represented England at youth level, scoring for the Under-19s against the Netherlands and France. He remains contracted to Chelsea until June 2027.
