Nathaniel Phillips arrived at the clubs Academy in 2016 following a successful trial. The defender made 20 appearances during the 2020-21 campaign to help Liverpool secure a third-placed Premier League finish and Champions League qualification.

He scored his first goal for the club in a 3-0 win at Burnley in May 2021, signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool in August 2021 and then joined AFC Bournemouth on loan in January 2022 to help them secure promotion to the top flight.
