Josip Stanišić is a professional footballer who plays as a defender (right-back) for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the Croatia national team. He was born in Munich, Germany, to Croat parents.

Stanišić began his football career at TSV 1860 Munich. After that, he moved to SC Fürstenfeldbruck, where he played for two years before arriving at FC Bayern in 2017. At first, he played for the Bayern youth teams and reserves. He’s been part of the club’s first-team squad since 2021 and scored his first Bundesliga goal on 14 May 2022 against VfL Wolfsburg.

Stanišić holds both Croatian and German citizenships. Despite having previously played for the Germany U19 team in 2018, he now plays for the Croatia national team. In addition, he has represented Croatia at Under-21 level.
